Follow the track log from Main Street in Breckenridge to a left turn onto Boreas Pass Road. This portion of the trail is suitable for passenger cars. Continue on past Boreas Pass and turn right at a sign for Selkirk Campground. This portion of the trail is easy and any high clearance 4WD Vehicle will do well. After passing the campground the trail becomes a little rougher but still OK for high clearance 4WD vehicles.
Later the trail becomes very confusing with many tracks that branch off from the main trail. The track log turns right at a fork and the trail changes to a moderate rating with a steep decent through the trees. If it has rained recently this could be a challenge. The trail breaks out into an open area that has been clear cut of trees. The view here is beautiful with millions of wild flowers including Indian paintbrush and Columbine.
This branch of the many trails in this area follows the Pennsylvania Creek. From here the trail descends to the town of Blue River. Follow the track log back to Breckenridge. This is a very nice trail and one you will want to return to explore the many trails that branch off from the main trail.
