Corkscrew / Poughkeepsie Gulch / Engineer Pass – Ouray, Colorado

Drive south from Ouray on 550 to the trail head. (See the track log.) Cork screw is a short scenic trail. Most stock vehicles will do fine. You may turn around and return to 550 or continue to follow the track log to Poughkeepsie Gulch. Poughkeepsie is rated difficult. At the end of Poughkeepsie turn left onto Engineer Pass to return to 550 or turn right to go to Lake City. At 550 turn right (north) to Ouray or left (south) to Silverton.
